Polly is a specialist in managing international contracts and relationships with ITOs (Inbound Tour Operators), Wholesalers, Retailers and OTAs (Online Travel Agents). With more than twelve years experience managing international partnerships, she is an expert negotiator, trouble-shooter and marketer of tourism products and online systems applications. Together with George, Polly brings a win-win approach to a client’s agent-supplier relationships.
Polly first earned her stripes on the front line of Victoria’s backpacker industry, managing staff and sales of a 700-bed hostel in the heart of Melbourne. In 2007, she was snapped up by George as Sales and Marketing Manager of his then new company Bunyip Tours, which went on to become one of Victoria’s most successful small group tour businesses. In 2019, the George and Polly management team was further cemented when she accepted the role as co-director of Leisure and Tourism Solutions.
Among Polly’s numerous successes was the growth of Bunyip’s regional tour itineraries from five to eleven destinations and the management of ongoing contracts with 47 partner-tourism businesses. In addition to ensuring a seamless visitor experience for consumers, Polly was also instrumental in attracting new business. This was achieved by tailoring touring solutions to meet the needs of agents and suppliers both online, in person and through trade show presentations (including ATE and Tourism Australia’s International Missions).
Polly’s skill at optimising online BM (booking management) systems is a major bonus for LATS’ clients. She has been credited with integrating two differing scheduling systems to coordinate operations with 97% reliability. This adept technical capability led to the success of the new shuttle service for Chadstone Shopping Centre, operating 16 services daily from Melbourne’s CBD alongside an existing regional tours service.
During her tenure at Bunyip Tours, Polly coordinated several major projects that culminated in Hall of Fame recognition as Victoria’s best Tour/Transport Operator and further gold and silver awards as Major Tour & Transport Winner at The Victorian Tourism Awards (2016-2018).
Polly holds a Diploma of Tourism, was a 2009/10 BOAV board member (Backpackers Operators Association of Victoria) and in 2011 was a graduate of the award-winning Melbourne Tourism Industry Leadership Program.
